One problem i have with my hometown of Parkersburg WV is that there arent enough places of entertainment focussing on teens. Parkersburg is full of bars, resteraunts, and antique shops. None of which any teen is interested in (except the bars but we wont discuss that). Some of the few places that Parkersburg does have thats targetted towards teens and younger people consists of a skating rink, a bowling alley, and the mall. Out of all of those the only one anyone goes to is the mall, but thats bc its a last resort to try and find something to do. Most teens turn to smoking weed because thats the only thing there really is to do in Parkersburg. Others turn to making wat they like to call “gangs”, but all they are is a bunch of ganster wannabes who like to cause trouble.
The idea of this essay is to try and get people to realize that Parkersburg is going nowhere and fast. If nothing is done to liven Parkersburg up its just going to slowly become more and more of a shit hole that no one wants to visit. unless Parkersburg takes some chances and adds some new and exciting places it will never have a chance to grow and develope into a place people would be interested in visiting.
According to recent Newspapers in Parkersburg teens are pushing to get the city to build a skatepark so teens will have something to do and get them off the streets. Local skaters have put together a team of people to have fundraisers and other things to try and make money for the establishment. Its nice to see that some people agree with me and are tryin to turn Parkersburg into a more fun place to be.

An issue i have with my home town of Parkersburg WV is that they dont seem to
want to attract anyone in entertainment wise, such as they refuse to make a
place for bands to be able to come and play, they wont build a skatepark that
teens having been pushing for, no big activities ever happen in Parkersburg. I
honestly think they want to make it a retirement home, or atleast thats the way it
seems. When i lived in parkersburg it was always a struggle to try and find
something fun to get into, especially when the only forms of entertainment
parkersburg has to offer is a skating rink, a bowling alley, or the mall, and all three
of those choices suck in my opinion. Parkersburg needs to liven up or it is just goin
to becomje another boring place that no one wants to visit. Now that i live in
PIttsburgh there is usually always something going on here, between going to
shows to see your favorite bands, or going to parties on the mountain. Ill admit I
always miss Parkersburg because of all the fun things i was able to do by living
somewhat out in the country like riding dirtbikes, fourwheelers, and going mudding
with my two redneck brothers, but unless Parkersburg takes some chances and
adds some new and exciting places it will never have a chance to grow and
develope into a place people would be interested in visiting.
